Mallorca: Joyride Style

We’re lucky enough to be able to work on, and ride, a lot of different bikes. Time to ride them is a different matter altogether, but when we get the chance, we like to make the most of it.

Mallorca is always seen as a bit of a pre-season “training camp” type of place, and the Balearic Island is flooded with cyclists at the beginning of the year.

As with most things, we like to buck the trend a little, so we decided to take a group of customers for an end of season jaunt to get some last-minute sunshine before the UK Winter properly set in.

We see Mallorca as a great introduction to riding mountains. The climbing is no where near as intimidating when compared to the Alps, Pyrenees or Dolomites. They are generally a lot shallower so it makes it a lot easier to just spin your way up, or if you’re feeling particularly strong, you can always go on the attack. Don’t get us wrong, we fully understand that a 10km climb can seem rather demoralising, but trust us. With the sun shining above, and super smooth tarmac below, you too will find it more enjoyable than you expect.

The other great thing about Mallorca is the price. Getting there is cheap, staying there is cheap, and eating there is cheap. Roll up to the local cafe in the morning before a ride and it’s €1.20 for a coffee. Stop for lunch and a sandwich and Coke is literally change. When the day is over and you just want a nice cold beer, that will be €2 thanks!

It’s easy then to see why this is such an awesome place to visit with your bike, with such epic scenery, super-smooth roads, and cheap food.  Really, what more do you need?

We organise tours to Mallorca throughout the year, with prices starting around £270 per person (excluding flights).  This includes 7 nights accommodation, private transfers, and cash towards food for the week – we feel the communal approach works well so we like to cook as much as we can.  This also keeps overall costs down  for everyone.

We can also do private tours for small groups, and you can have our expertise all to yourself.

If you’re interested in riding with us, get in touch to see what we can offer you.
